Agent guide

10 questions to ask before you choose a brokerage.

The questions you ask before switching brokerages decide whether a move helps your business or simply relocates the same problems. This guide walks through the ten questions worth answering before you make a choice, with a direct answer for each and how MORE Realty approaches it, then points you to the real evidence on this site rather than inventing numbers.

01

What is the commission split, and how much do you really keep per closing?

A headline split tells you almost nothing. What matters is what you actually keep after the split, the cap, a desk fee, a technology fee, errors and omissions coverage, transaction fees, and any franchise or royalty fees. Price the true all-in cost on a realistic average price home in your market before you compare one brokerage to another.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty operates a 100% commission model: keep 100% of your commission, pay a small monthly fee and a small transaction fee, and hit a low annual cap. Plans and fees vary a little by state, and the full confirmed details are shared openly during a conversation.

The plans page lists what each state plan includes, so you can see the whole picture on one page.

02

What fees do you pay monthly and annually, and are there hidden or franchise or royalty fees?

Ask for every line item in writing, on one page, sorted by what you pay monthly, annually, and per transaction. Nothing should need decoding, and nothing should surface only after you sign.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty publishes its monthly fee, transaction fee, cap, and what is included on a single commission plan page for each of its four states, and the conversation confirms every detail before you decide.

03

What happens to your pending deals, listings, and commissions if you leave?

This is the portability question, and it deserves a straight answer. Ask directly how active listings, pending transactions, and earned commissions are handled during a transfer, and get the plan in writing before you decide.

How MORE Realty approaches it

A move to MORE Realty is planned together in the transition conversation. Your client relationships and your database stay yours, and the timing of the transfer is set so current transactions keep moving cleanly.

04

Who reviews your contracts, how fast, and whose phone do you call when a deal blows up on a Saturday?

A good brokerage has a clear, fast path for contract review and a real person you can reach when a deal goes sideways on a weekend. Ask who reviews, how fast they turn around, and what the escalation actually looks like.

How MORE Realty approaches it

Leadership access is one of MORE Realty's five pillars: your questions go to an owner and principal broker who has trained hundreds of agents, not a support ticket, and transaction support staff back up the paperwork.

05

Is the transaction coordinator included, or extra?

Ask whether transaction management is part of the package or billed as a separate service, and what exactly each tier covers. Included support and a paid add-on are not the same thing.

How MORE Realty approaches it

For agents in Oregon and Washington, the Transaction Support Department takes on the paperwork so you can stay with your clients: creating transaction files and MLS listings, preparing paperwork and sending it for signature, opening escrow, and more. Services vary by state.

06

What does real training and coaching look like, from month one through year three?

Contrast a two-hour orientation with structured education that continues across your first years. Ask what is taught in month one, in month twelve, and in year three, and who does the teaching.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty trains agents at every stage: a Mentorship Program for new or limited-experience agents, development for growing teams, and ongoing education for veterans, covering both foundations and practical AI.

07

Do you have a formal mentorship program, how are mentors selected, and do they take a cut of your early deals?

A formal program is different from a name on a roster. Ask how mentors are chosen, what they actually teach, and whether mentorship is built into the plan or carries a cost against your early deals.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty's Mentorship Program pairs newly licensed or limited-experience agents with a mentor who has years of experience and a proven track record. You get a real, working education in the skills that build a real estate business.

08

What does support look like after your first year, once you're producing?

Brokerages that shine during onboarding and go quiet by year two lose their agents later. Ask what changes after year one and how support scales as your production grows.

How MORE Realty approaches it

Support at MORE Realty is structured as five pillars that do not expire with onboarding: leadership access, training and development, technology and marketing, transaction support, and community and culture, with development tracks for growing teams and seasoned veterans.

09

Which tools are actually included versus what you re-buy yourself, and what is the AI and visibility strategy?

Inventory every tool you pay for today and check which one a brokerage includes: CRM, website, lead generation, marketing, transaction management, and errors and omissions coverage. Then ask about the AI and visibility plan, because that is where the industry is heading.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty's plans include E&O coverage, CRM and website tools, lead generation and marketing tools, training and development, and a transaction management platform. On AI, its focus is practical, everyday help and keeping your expertise visible, without promising leads, rankings, or income.

10

What do current agents actually say about working here?

Ask for current agents and read honest testimony rather than marketing copy. The most reliable evidence is a named agent who practices there today, in their own words.

How MORE Realty approaches it

MORE Realty publishes testimonials from practicing agents and a preferred lending partner exactly as they said them, and the most honest evidence is a conversation where you ask about the experiences of agents who have already made the move.

The honest test is a conversation.
